Personal Experience

Being a beginner in music myself; having 6 years of training, it was only natural that I had to select the Hollywood bowl, the most prestigious stage in Los Angeles California.   As the 40 minute drive ended, my father had parked near the bowl itself.   I was ecstatic as I once saw one of my favorite performers: COLDPLAY take the stage in 2003 on a DVD, but had never seen the Hollywood bowl in person.   I walked up a long hill, and traveled through a soundproof tunnel that had synthetic fibers combined with wood to eliminate reverberation.   After walking through the tunnel, I discovered the entrance; it was from the left side of the bowl.   I caught my first glimpse and stood in awe as 18,000 wooden brown seats were in view, contrasting the pearl white bowl that was still under construction.   I sat down in the center and gazed upon the stage, knowing the legendary performers that had stood on it, as well as my own friend who performed in the playboy jazz festival in 2003.  It was during this period that I had wished I had brought my guitar to this wonderful location as to say: “I played at the Hollywood Bowl”.  The Hollywood bowl looked like a diamond in the beautifully lush Hollywood hills, and I realized that the surrounding hills acted as a deep pocket, sealing everything else out.   Accordingly, I began to take as many photos as I could from every imaginable angle, but I soon ran out of breath while scaling tons of staircases.   However, despite my fatigue, I was still happy as to being here.   We departed the bowl and took pictures of the ‘Kneeling Woman’ at the entrance along with the Hollywood Bowl sign.   After taking a multitude of photos, my father and I decided it was best to head to the museum, unfortunately, it was closed on Sunday, and so I had to go back on Tuesday.   Upon arrival on Tuesday, My father and I went to the upstairs portion of the museum.   I played with the instruments upstairs and soon headed to the downstairs portion to receive further analysis.   The downstairs portion of the museum was heavily loaded with pictures, documents, and diagrams, which I used to my advantage.   The tour guide gave me essential information in formulating my presentation.   I gladly supported the museum by purchasing a souvenir booklet at the end and so was the end to this exciting trip.
